About Us “Wrong Way Squares” Profile includes;
Organization: Non-profit club presided over by an Executive Board Where: Hebron Elementary School Cafeteria 307 S. Main Street, Hebron, IN.Wrong Way Dances: 9 dances per year on 2nd Saturday 7:30PM – 10:00PM September – May Dances in NW Indiana: (4) Other Clubs with differing schedules. Special Dances: Indiana State Convention is held in Muncie in October, In. plus many special weekend dances at various State Parks & assemble halls. Annual National Convention is held at various cities in June. Other Club Activities: Dance demonstrations upon request, weekly new dancer lessons Fall/Winter, mystery bus trip, summer picnic and Christmas Party Club History: The Club started in 1972 with 8 couples from Hebron. They danced in Hebron elementary school gym to Joe Braun, club caller. In November 2007 the club celebrated their 35th Anniversary. Origin of Wrong Way Name: Founding members thought it would be good club name association with the “Wrong Way” road signs recognized across the Nation. We do go the wrong way while dancing at times. Membership: 70 Active members from Hebron & surrounding areas of Porter, Lake & Jasper Counties Membership Requirement: Shall be open to all dancers who have completed lessons under the instruction of ACA (American Callers Association), Caller Lab or equivalent instructor and provided dancers agree to abide by the Club Constitution and Bylaws and share in club’s responsibilities and dues. Meetings: (3) Regular membership meetings per year. Affiliations: Indiana Dancers Association Fundraisers: The Wrong Way Squares being a caring club, have supported regional fundraisers activities through their work and generosity. |
